Lynn's Lines - I'm a bad husband...

I admit it - I did it out of spite...

Tricia and I had a Thomas Marsh-spilled milk experience this morning (okay I'm stretching it with that comparison). Hopefully it won't cause too many problems on the home front.

I'm not sure what happened, but to make a long story short I slept in, I actually over slept by nearly one hour. I hurriedly readied myself, and then made my way into the kitchen to eat breakfast. I grabbed the cereal box, then went to the fridge. This is where the spite comes in...

My wife, who I love to death, has to let the milk carton be completely dry before she even considers buying more milk...it drives me crazy. As I picked up the nearly empty milk carton I found myself between a rock and a hard place - do I take the remaining milk, or do I leave it for Tricia. You guessed it - I selfishly used the last of the milk, let me explain why:
  • I usually leave it and eat something else, but I was short on time and still half awake
  • My wife was in the grocery store yesterday, but did not buy milk, which means that when I get home tonight I will have to be the one who makes the trip to the market to get milk and her beloved orange juice.
  • I guess I'm spiteful
So, why didn't Tricia buy milk yesterday? She thought we had enough for today, but what confuses me is - even though we have enough milk for one more day that means we won't have enough for the next day. If I'm in the market, and I know that I'm going to need milk in 2 days I am going to buy it.

Sorry honey, I know how much you like your cereal for breakfast...next time you're in the market and you know we're going to need milk please buy some.

Just think of it as having a one-week supply of milk! :)

I love how you call it the "market".

Running out of milk is never a good thing. And since I'm a milk drinker, I always try to keep plenty on hand. If we didn't have to worry about expiration dates, I would stock up.

This is just my opinion, but I think this is inexcusable Lynn because you know that Tricia has to have her cereal in the morning. That being said, you can always call us for milk.
