Lynn's Lines - should I or should I not?

Sorry to all who were hoping that I was never going to contribute again, but Tricia finally removed the hearts - sooo I'm back! Truth of the matter is I've been busy and not feeling very creative, but as usual I've been thinking.

I had an experience at work (that I really can't talk about) that has caused me to reflect on life and the decisions we make. Here's what I've been thinking about: Are we capable of thinking about the consequences of our actions before or while we are doing something we shouldn't? This question could apply to several things, a couple of examples:
  • Word of Wisdom
  • Law of Chastity
  • Physical or emotional abuse
  • Blogging instead of sleeping
  • etc.
Saul (from the Bible - for Tricia) came to mind last week. I think this sentence from the Bible Dictionary (under: Saul) is very applicable. "Saul's downfall shows the consequences of uncontrolled self-will, and disobedience to counsel." So, are we capable of considering the consequences before we act? If so, why do we so many of us fear man more than God? Are we listening to our ecclesiastical leaders, and following their counsel?

I'm definitely not perfect, and I will inevitably make mistakes through out my life. However last week I learned that by taking a few moments to consider the consequences of our actions can save us and our families from a lot of heartache and pain.

Oh, Saul. You mean Saul of Tarsus, right? As in, the original Jewish name of the Apostle Paul; so called up to Acts 13:9. The Saul who received the first recorded evidence of Music Therapy in the Bible - David playing his harp and the evil spirit leaving Saul - Right, I know the one.
