Doggie Day Care

I took the dogs to day care today for the first time ever. The first visit is free, so don't go getting all uptight about me spending tons of money on our animals. And, don't worry, I won't be taking them on a regular basis either. I just wanted to try it out to see if they would like it, and if they would do well. If we ever need to board them we will have a place to go.

Anyway, as I dropped them off, I couldn't help but feel a bit like my mother must have felt the first day she dropped me off at preschool. Excited for me, but a little sad to leave me there by myself, unsure of how I would do. I felt a little silly standing there watching them being taken away to play with the other dogs, as they stared at me, as if to say, "where are you going and why are you leaving us here?" As I tried to pry myself away from the glass door that separated me from the sweet canines I felt a tinge of sadness and loneliness, and hoped that they would make new friends easily and have a fun time.

It turns out that they did have fun, and they did play, and they did make new friends. In fact, they must have played so much while they were there, that they were exhausted when they got home, and went to sleep for the night, not even attempting to get Lynn or I to take them to the p - a - r - k. Truly, a tired dog is a good dog.

I used to take Mr. Darcy to a place called Best Friends Pet Resort back east(to get groomed and he actually stayed there once while we were on vaca) anyways...he LOVED it! I don't think he wanted to come home. I think it's great to let them socialize with other dogs!

So cute! You are so good to your dogs. I don't know why Lynn was so embarressed about this?
