Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour

Is there anyone out there that has been to a Farrell's? I used to go there all the time when I was a kid. There was one near our home in Downey that we went to, but I guess it's not there anymore, because the Farrell's website doesn't list it among its locations. My 8th birthday party was there. There was a player piano there that I loved to stick dimes into to get it to play. And they had a little candy store at the front of the restaurant that always enticed me. When it was someone's birthday, they would ring a loud bell, and I think bang a drum. It was lots of fun. Wow, I can't believe I remembered all of that. I can see it all in my head still. In fact, this picture from their website could almost be from my birthday party. It looks just like I remember it, and the styles seem just right for the time period.

And here's a modern picture of the candy shop inside the restaurant.

Reminiscing makes me feel old...

Tricia~

Do you remember after Stake dances that we would go to the one at the Vineyard.

It's gone now, but we recently have a new one built up by us in Mission Viejo. We took Josh there for his 7th birthday, and they did all the sirens, whistles, and drums. It was insane, there were 8 birthdays while we were there, and it was so much fun!!

They even have the candy shoppe attached too. I think Dave and I enjoyed it more than the kiddos. It's fun to reminisce!!

Hope you had a great birthday chica!!

We used to have Ferrlels in Phoenix when I was little. My uncle had a piggy ribbon because he ate all of the pig platter there once. I thought that was so very cool.
