Wireless Christmas Tree Lights

Dear Inventors:

I am the type of person that likes lots of lights on the Christmas tree. Unfortunately, I am also the type of person that hates to see the wires. I can truly thank my mother for that one. And she can blame it on her father. I always put the lights on the tree growing up, and I always heard her say, "hide the wires. Pappy always made sure you couldn't see any wires."

It may not sound like it, but it is actually a fond memory.

Anyway, because of this, and because I like lots of lights, it takes me forever to put the lights on the tree (which, by the way, must also be real). I start at the trunk, wrap the lights around the branch to the tip, then wrap back down to the trunk. Then I wrap around the trunk til I get to the next branch, and I do the same thing again. I usually use about 300-500 lights on a small 2-3 foot tree.

I have been waiting and waiting for the invention of wireless Christmas tree lights, and still wait in vain. I found that someone applied for a patent back in 1992 for this idea, but didn't renew it this year in March when the patent expired. I don't know if it just wasn't possible, wasn't feasible, or was a health risk.

So, if someone could please have a break-through and invent lights (tiny lights, not the big ones that each have their own battery) that you can put on the tree individually, without wires, I would pay good money for them!

Sincerely,
Christmas Tree Light Freak

You are so silly!!
I too, spend way too much time wrapping, and hiding wires. But the only way I could think of wireless lights working would be with cips, and that would take just as long, don't you think (especially to find them all, and take them off) plus kiddos would try and eat them, or take them all off.

Yeah, I think I ended up with like 700 lights on my 6' tree this year. I like lights. I don't really see how the wireless thing would work either. Plus, you would have to individually place each light; and that would be a pain.

I realize that placing each light individually would be a hassle, but it seems like it would be easier than wrapping wires around branch after branch. Tash, you have a good point about them getting eaten.
