My 2nd attempt at caramel apples

On Saturday I tried making caramel apples. It didn't go so well. I used the caramel that you dip your apples slices into. The problem with that is that it is always soft and runny, even at room temperature. So it never set up enough to put the white chocolate over it. So today I tried it again, only I used the little caramel squares that come individually wrapped. Those things are not easy to get unwrapped!

It worked out so much better this time than last time. I was able to put on the white chocolate (almond bark) layer, and even drizzle on a little milk chocolate (also almond bark) as well. Lynn helped out by sprinkling some cinnamon-sugar over the milk chocolate right after I drizzled it on.

I just ate my apple. I have to admit that they are not nearly as good as Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory apples, but it was still not too bad. Now that I ate so much, I am feeling sleepy...

Impressive. Looks like it will do in a rocky-mountain-chocolate's-aren't-available pinch! Yum!

Blythe was telling me about your caramel apple woes:o) The trick is to make sure the caramel layer is really thick...and...to use "real" white chocolate...not the almond bark. You may like them better than rocky mountain this way:o)

I love RMC's apple pie carmel apple. I maybe have to make a trip to the mall just for that.
